Admissions

We welcome enquiries from families who are considering Fountains Earth Lofthouse CE Primary School as the school for their child between the ages of 3 and 11 years.

Please contact Alison Walker, School Administrator on telephone 01423 755289 or contact North Yorkshire Admissions to enquire about the availability of a place. (Information on admissions and access to an electronic application form can be found on this site.)

Admission Criteria

The admission criteria for this school is determined by the Local Education Authority and agreed by the Governing Body.

As  we  are  a  very  small  school  in  an  isolated  area,  there are  normally  places available in each year group. Fountains Earth adheres to the North Yorkshire County Council Admissions Procedure, which is available on www.northyorks.gov.uk.

Admission to this school lies with the Local Authority and not with the school. Parents who would like their children to attend Fountains Earth Primary School must:

  • Complete the Local Authority Admission Request Form available online via www.northyorks.gov.uk  and  return it to: Harrogate Education Office, CYPS, Jesmond House, 31-33 Victoria Avenue, Harrogate, HG1 5QE.

  • Complete the school’s admission/registration form and return it to the school. We are happy to help with either of these procedures via the school office.

Admission to School in Reception

All children are admitted to our Reception class at the beginning of the academic year in which they have their fifth birthday. The academic year runs from 1st September to 31 August. Our number of entrants for Reception is 6.

Admission to School other than Reception

Families with children wishing to join the school at any time other than Reception will meet with the Headteacher, have a tour of school and following discussion a start date will quickly be agreed. The school from where children are transferring will be contacted to ensure an efficient transfer of information.

Please view a copy of the School Admissions Policy 2014 - 2015 (.pdf)
