Our topic for the second half of the autumn term is “Festivals of Light” which we have started with a study of the Hindu / Sikh festival of Diwali. The children have started working with clay to make beautiful diva lamps; their skills will develop further as we introduce coil pots before Christmas.

Your teachers are Mrs J Metcalfe and Mrs J Harker-Jones.

Class News

We are very busy this term thinking about festivals of light. We made thumb-pot divas when we looked at how Diwali is celebrated and we will build on these skills by making coil pots as we move towards Christmas. Our class novel, The Firework Maker's Daughter, is helping us to think about how using vocabulary carefully gives a reader a clear picture of character and plot.

Please have a go at using our new computer program, Purple Mash, to help learning at home. It has some great quizzes in the science section all about the human body and how it works.
