School Games SilverSchool Games Silver

As a result of our investment in sport through the school sport premium we have achieved our silver school games award (September 2016). We are now working towards our Gold award by increasing participation in competitive events through the Harrogate School Sports Partnership.

Lofthouse village, the nearby town of Pateley Bridge  and Nidderdale are all areas rich in sporting tradition and we warmly encourage our pupils to participate in club based activities cricket, football, netball, hockey, gymnastics, rugby, swimming and outdoor pursuits. Sport is important to us and there are no barriers to opportunity based on gender or ability. The school is fortunate to have skilled and enthusiastic practitioners, who have created a positive culture of sporting achievement and enjoyment. Our partner school, St Cuthbert’s in Pateley Bridge has a specialist PE teacher and we are lucky enough to have one of the only two North Yorkshire County Council outdoor centres on our doorstep. Bewerley Park is a rich resource and close links with the centre mean that our curriculum is enhanced by what they have to offer.
